Torquay United Supporters' Trust have launched a brilliant new initiative in order to raise money money to sustain, advance and support the newly-formed Junior Gulls, and you can help... The Junior Gulls is a project that the trust run in full consultation with the club and we are keen to expand the membership, increase the incentives and bring more and more youngster to the club, while at the same time bringing Torquay United to the attention of as many youngsters in the Torbay and South Devon area as we possibly can. The fact is that so far the Junior Gulls have been financed by the trust and the club in equal measure, and we are now looking for new ways to fund the programme going forward. It took a lot of hard work from a lot of people both from the trust and the club to get the Junior Gulls set up and then launched, and so far it has been a great success. We all want youngsters in the local area to become supporters of Torquay United, as they are the supporters of the future, and a great way of doing that is for them to become apart of this growing club and to benefit from their membership. So we now bring you news of a fantastic fundraising initiative that can only serve to help the junior Gulls in all areas of its operation. At the same time, the idea offers a great opportunity to small, local businesses with a great opportunity to win around £1,500 in sponsorship. It's the Junior Gulls Sponsorship Draw, in which you buy a ticket or tickets for £10 each, which will give you the chance to win a sponsorship deal. The winner will become the brand new sponsor of the Junior Gulls for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season and for the entirety of the 2010-2011 season. For just £10 a ticket, it's an incredible opportunity. As a result the winner will... Have their name or business name on the Junior Gulls T-Shirts for the 2010-2011 season. Have their name or business name in the Junior Gulls newsletter. Have their name or business name included in the club's official matchday programme. Have their name or business name included in the club's official website. Be invited to all Junior Gulls events. Receive press and radio coverage. Everyone who buys a ticket will be invited to attend the draw which will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the club's No:10s Restaurant at Plainmoor. We believe that this is a no-brainer as for just £10 you will be in with the chance of winning a great prize and £1,500 of sponsorship, and you will be supporting the Junior Gulls initiative. Initially the idea was intended to be aimed at small, local businesses, but of course it is not exclusive to such an audience. Some people have already purchased a draw ticket so that they can play their part in the future of the Junior Gulls as well as having the opportunity to win the sponsorship deal.
